The Magicool World of Mylyn Nguyen

Welcome to the Magicool world of Mylyn Nguyen. Nguyen creates miniature sculptures that reflect upon her childhood imaginary worlds and her vivid imagination. Trained at SCA in glass, Nguyen is not afraid of any medium, creating her sculptures out of a wide range of materials including water colour on paper. Her works captivate, intrigue and beckon adoration.

Nguyen has written the following as part of her exhibition statement for her upcoming exhibition at Brenda May Gallery 13 Nov - 1st Dec 2012:
"...This is about the tiny little bit of moss that sits in the crack of the concrete footpath outside the office that reminds me that one day, I should stop working and go find bear." - Mylyn Nguyen

Mylyn Nguyen , 'Me, My Monster (and Trust)' 2011, ink and watercolour on paper, hot sculptured glass, found bottle cap - 2 pieces , 9 x 10 x 4cm
When asked about her favourite part of creating the 'Bottle A Tree Series,' Nguyen said it would have to be cutting out the paper figures. She also said with a laugh that she never has made a mistake. Truly Amazing!
